Caledon Laboratories (“Caledon”) is currently recruiting for a Sales & Marketing Manager to plan, organize and control the company’s sales activities. The successful candidate will ideally bring industry experience and an understanding of the laboratory chemical sales. You will provide leadership, management, and motivation in order to achieve the Company’s sales profit margin goals, through the efforts of Sales Team. You will demonstrate the ability to leverage your team, delivering exceptional service and tangible results. You will develop plans in alignment with Customer’s Initiatives, and create strategic solutions for our customers. Success in this position means Customer satisfaction and delivering value, leading by example, as an active team player who acquires, maintains and strengthens business relationships and is accountable for achieving business objectives.
Role and Responsibilities
·Develop both long and short-term plans that include sales goals, objectives, and strategies.
·Provide effective coaching, mentoring and monitoring to ensure that Sales personnel reach their sales goals.
·Develop Sales Department budgets, and control actual department expenses in accordance with the budgets.
·Hire and train all directly reporting staff. Perform reviews and recommend salary adjustments as appropriate.
·Monitor sales results and margins continuously. Take corrective action whenever results fall short of targets. Revise plans, budgets, and forecasts whenever necessary.
·Work with Sr. Management to maintain list prices, discount levels and special prices in order to meet margin goals.
·Recommend items or product groups that should be added to the Caledon label product line, to respond to market opportunities and company goals.
·Ensure that the CRM is well maintained.
·Provide monthly review of current sales results.
·Provide a written quarterly review.
·Identify and recommend marketable and profitable product lines to add to the Caledon offering.
·Serve as an integral part of the leadership team, making recommendations on how to drive innovation and exceed organizational expectations.
·Influence decisions and drive behavior/organizational change with internal stakeholders.
·Support employee engagement & communication initiatives to promote community, culture and foster an environment of pride, growth, and development.
Qualifications:
·Degree in business, marketing, chemistry, or similar, or equivalent experience.
·5+ years of recent experience in a progressive sales role.
·Knowledge of budgeting and cost control principles.
·Knowledge of pricing strategies and principles.
·Quote development and approvals background.
·Strong leadership, time management, and project management skills.
·Experience in MS Excel.
·Highly organized, proactive, attentive to detail, and able to produce quality work.
·Professional written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
·Proven track record in customer retention and relationship management
·Comprehensive understanding of sales strategy, processes, and support required for agile and scalable programs.
·Strong analytical and reporting skills; able to identify trends and solutions; makes recommendations grounded in data and analytics.
·Highly experienced in leading collaborative decision-making with disparate virtual teams; able to influence and lead without organizational authority.
·Ability to travel periodically (up to 35% of time)
·Have a valid driver’s license
·Proven ability to develop and motivate staff.
Working Conditions:
·Special working conditions cover a range of circumstances from regular evening and weekend work, travel and attending conferences.
·This is a remote role with limited requirement for presence in Main Office.
Annual Salary for this position is 80,000 CAD to 100,000 CAD annually and will be eligible for a sales incentive plan (Actual salary will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)
