As a member of the Resort Sales Team, the Sales Manager, Recreation and Catering will manage sales from the market comprised of recreation and catering-only events. The role is responsible for maintaining existing sales and uncovering and sourcing new business, by managing incoming inquiries and initiate sales missions. In this role, the successful candidate will effectively negotiate recreation ticket sales, food & beverage, and potential small accommodation blocks. As a member of the resort sales team, the individual is required to modify their presentation to address the group while achieving business requirements.


The Sales Manager will be responsible for their personal sales within the Recreation and Catering Market segment. Sales success will depend on self-initiative, the preparation of timely group specific quotations and sales reports/forecasts.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?


  • Tracing historical business and initiating cold calls.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong working relationship with Group Organizers (Social and Professional Organizations)
  • Preparing and delivering sale/promotional materials (i.e. Proposals/Contracts)
  • Developing and executing sales initiatives to generate and source new business, including attending ski and trade shows, initiating sales calls, and conducting site inspections.
  • Selling Recreation Products and Catering Functions, including researching, qualifying and soliciting recreation business – ski clubs, ski councils, colleges and universities, corporate B2B and B2E opportunities
  • Attending events to promote recreation and catering sales including local events (sports, cultural, Assoc. etc.) and industry/public trade shows.
  • Executing Catering Functions/Day Meetings, including completing Event orders for recreation and catering functions, and attending review meetings as required


WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?


  • Thrive in working within a dynamic team environment with quantifiable goals
  • Strong selling record that reflects the attainment of growth of sales goals
  • Strong sales background with resort industry, minimum of 12 months’ experience preferred
  • Computer Proficient: Microsoft Office, Delphi, Excel knowledge preferred
  • Active or past involvement within ski industry related organizations
