Job Description

We are actively looking for a Full-Time Accounting Assistant for Human Care Canada for our Ottawa office.

Your primary responsibilities will be providing support to the Finance team.

We are looking for someone to start immediately.

Accounting Assistant

What you'll do

Support the accounting operations of the Company

Prepare accurate weekly/monthly reports & analysis

Work with the Controller to complete the monthly close

Assist in development of reports for management

Troubleshooting accounting issues - determining root cause, resolving/correcting issue, make necessary changes to avoid future issues

Assist in the formulation and maintenance of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and best practices

Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts

Analyzing financial information/data

Assist with review of AP invoices

Participate in preparation for the annual audit

Qualifications and Skills

1-3 years' experience working in a an environment that involves varied accounting tasks

Accounting Diploma

Strong analytical, technological, communication and organizational skills

Good knowledge of accounting and financial processes

Detail oriented & enjoys problem solving

Take charge type of attitude to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner

Commitment to learning new tasks

Ability to communicate clearly in both written & verbal correspondence

Sage 300 ERP experience is an asset

Intermediate to Advanced skills in Excel essential

Bilingualism an asset – (English /French)
