About the Position:
Reporting to the VP, Sales, Atlantic Canada this position will promote sales in the region by meeting or exceeding planned sales revenues; promoting our products and provide value engineered solutions. The Sales Manager, Maritimes is responsible for contributing to and implementing a win/win sales strategy in a competitive industry and developing us as a trusted advisor in the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Manages ongoing engineered product and service requirements and monitor client base for expansion, growth or potential moves.
- Creates a regional sales and marketing plan for the region and manage to it.
- Contributes to new product development by identifying opportunities and contributing to marketing and commercialization efforts to bring them successfully to the market.
- Supports sales team and contributes to value engineered proposals with written components, providing thoughts, ideas, and suggestions, making technical presentations, and getting involved in negotiations.
- Works closely with other departments and regions to proactively address problems, improve customer satisfaction, and increase profit.
- Develops and manages both internal and external business relationships.
- Works closely with the VP, Sales, Atlantic Canada to develop pricing strategies and sales forecasts for the region.
- Travels throughout the region to support our customers in their sales territory
- Researches and analyzes markets and demographics to ensure opportunities are capitalized on and competition is minimized.
- Aligned with the Company’s strategic plan, establishes long and short-term sales goals, plans, and programs to ensure profitable growth.
- Recommends changes and provide flexibility to quickly rectify problems and create opportunity.
- Provides professional leadership and direction for sales staff in the Maritimes.
Qualifications:
- Ability to negotiate a win-win deal, contributing to the success and the reputation of Atlantic Industries as a trusted advisor in the industry.
- Business acumen including the ability to develop and manage to realistic budgets, understanding of strategy and risk management in decision making.
- Post-secondary education in business, civil engineering or civil technology is an asset.
- Experience with budgeting, pricing, and competitive analysis.
- Experience with a CRM/Salesforce an asset.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize several projects and matters concurrently.
- Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written, including the ability to know an appropriate method, who and how to communicate with, depending on the situation. Ability to present clear, concise, and credible business presentations.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop strong business relationships.
- Five to seven years of sales experience, in the civil construction industry.
