Job Description
Summary

Arbutus Medical is a rapidly growing medical device venture that sells orthopaedic power tools and surgical procedure kits to help hospitals streamline workflows and improve access to surgical care.

We are a 15-person team seeking a Sales Administrator to support our North American customers and sales staff. Our ideal candidate has experience in a customer service role, and is detail-oriented, empathetic, a clear and concise communicator, and a customer-first problem solver.

Why Join Arbutus Medical?

We are a purpose-driven team that is a great fit for individuals looking to make a positive impact with your work. Arbutus Medical’s mission is to develop innovative devices that help hospitals manage rising costs, improve efficiency, and ultimately improve access to surgical care worldwide. Our goal is to enable 5 million surgeries by 2030.

Role Description

As a Sales Administrator, you will report to the Director of Sales and provide daily support to our customers and sales team. You will prepare quotes, proposals, and invoices, coordinate communication with inbound leads, support the sales team with customer record management, plan and book sales travel and events, execute email outreach campaigns, and prepare reports for management.

This role is a remote position, ideally located in the greater Toronto area (must be on Eastern Standard Time), with the requirement to travel up to twice per year to Vancouver (or other North American cities) for team building events.

Why this role, and why now?

We recently closed a $3.5MM round of financing to fuel growth and become the market leader in our focus market: skeletal traction procedures at U.S. trauma centers. In this market, our complete surgical solution for skeletal traction helps save time for busy surgeons and ER staff, ultimately improving ER throughput (a hot-button topic in 2023) and saving money for hospitals. We currently have 25 Trauma Centers using our product and aim to reach #1 market share by 2025.

We need this position to help us handle the increasing volume of sales transactions, communication, and administrative challenges that come with this growth.

Requirements

  • Prior CRM experience (Hubspot or equivalent)
  • Good organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Proficiency with online communication tools, spreadsheets, and productivity automation tools
  • Ability to prioritize and work efficiently
  • Proactive, highly empathetic customer-first problem solver (“pragmatic tenacity”)
  • Clear, friendly, and concise communication both in writing (email) and verbal (phone or zoom)
  • 1+ year experience in a sales or customer service role

Benefits

This is a great opportunity to get in at the ground floor of a growing venture and work with passionate teammates who want to help patients and make a positive difference in the world. And, we offer:

  • Flexible work-from-home arrangements
  • $1,000/year in professional development funding
  • 2 weeks of paid vacation
  • 1-2 team-building trips/year to Arbutus Medical HQ in beautiful Vancouver, Canada
  • Extended health benefits
  • Bonuses for generating new customer leads
  • $54,000 to $60,000 starting base salary (commensurate with experience)
