Your new role
In this role, the Regional Inventory Planner is in charge for day-to-day inventory control procedures, oversees Edmonton, Red Deer, and Calgary branches’ inventories, and makes recommendations as required.
JOB DUTIES
- Works with the Senior Manager, Parts Business Technologies & Strategic Projects to develop policies and procedures for supporting branches.
- Responsibilities also include inventory counts and reconciliation, parts returns, performing and analyzing weekly stock orders, reviewing min/max levels, back order escalation, forward planning for maintenance and other duties as assigned to maintain remote mining parts targets as they relate to parts margins and inventory turns.
- Evaluates the parts inventory control systems and take the decision in terms of planning inventory and replenishment.
- Monitor key performance indicators to ensure that trends are managed related to total parts inventory value, inventory turns, non-turning inventory, obsolescence, etc.
- Participates in group meetings to address internal / customer concerns.
- Analyzes and recommends medium to long-term plans for inventories to support Customer fleets.
- Develop annual objectives for the inventory control function to include proper and acceptable inventory levels, acceptable turnover rates, and acceptable fill rates.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
- Extensive experience with reporting and spreadsheets.
- Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications; specifically parts and inventory computer systems.
- Ability to develop, plan, and implement short- and long-range goals.
- Ability to coordinate quality assurance programs in the area of specialty.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy with a variety of individuals and groups
- Ability to work independently and/ or as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with a wide variety of individuals and groups.
- Short-term and long-range planning abilities.
- Employee development and performance management skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
- Leadership skills.
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
- Planning and organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and complete projects.
- Extensive knowledge of parts distribution and inventory management.
