The Conseil des fonds d’investissement du Québec (CFIQ), the Quebec voice and regional office of the Investment Funds Institute of Canada (IFIC), which is the lead advocate for Canada’s investment funds industry, is looking for a results driven and team oriented person with outstanding member services skills to fill the position of Regional Coordinator (Coordinator) in its Montreal office.
About the Role
The Coordinator reports to the Regional Director, Quebec. Working in a team-based environment, the individual brings expert MS Office and administrative skills, flexibility, a proactive approach to work, and an authentic desire to collaborate and assist others as situations dictate. The Coordinator should consistently demonstrate superior technical expertise and, as importantly, superior interpersonal skills to interact with co-workers, executives, CFIQ members, and other stakeholders from the investment industry at large.
The Coordinator will have an important role in the daily operations of the regional office. The responsibilities are two-fold:
Administration:
The Coordinator will provide administrative support to the CFIQ office. The main responsibilities are as follows:
-Handle inquiries, prioritize and initiate proper action on behalf of CFIQ
-Manage correspondence and prepare or coordinate responses
-Provide support services to CFIQ committees – including arranging meetings, compiling meeting agendas and related materials for dissemination to attendees and coordination of meeting schedules
-Support the Regional Director’s activity and schedule as required
-Support member relations and communications as set out in the annual plan
Events:
CFIQ holds one major conference every year plus an Annual Assembly of members. There are also occasional ad hoc events such as round tables and webinars. The Coordinator will be responsible for the successful delivery of these events in collaboration with IFIC staff.
The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Supporting the registration website
-Managing the budget of the conference to align with annual plan
-Actively seeking sponsorship support
-Supporting the various panels and speakers of the conference with their preparation
-Delivering accreditation with various bodies for continuing education credits
You are a professional who brings a wide breadth and depth of administrative expertise to the role from at least 3 to 5 years of related work. You are also a team player and self-starter who sees what needs to be done for your own role and the team at large and does it in a tactful and professional manner.
Required skills and background:
-Asset Management or Financial Services experience preferred
-Strong in French, oral and written, bilingualism is an asset
-Excellent computer skills, experience with MS Office, document management software, and production of accurate documentation
-Strong organizational and prioritization skills
-Self-starter who is able to initiate action without reminders from others
-Demonstrates mature and good judgment independently
-Team player who accommodates others’ organizational priorities and the needs of the team
-Excellent customer service and relationship management skills
Work Environment
Montreal based role with very limited travel
