Quality Assurance Lead
The Client is a leading provider of innovative manufacturing solutions. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Assurance Lead to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all manufactured products meet our high standards of quality and performance. Reporting to the Vice President, the Quality Assurance Lead would be tasked with implementing, maintaining and continuously improving our quality processes and procedures. The Quality Assurance
Lead will also be responsible for leading and coaching quality inspectors, and ensuring that all products meet the required specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of quality control techniques and a proven track record in developing and maintaining a robust quality system. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong leadership qualities and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Calibration and maintenance of measuring instruments (micrometers, bore gages, calipers, plug gages, ring gages, etc.)
- Review of material test reports
- Program, setup, and operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
- Perform first article and in process inspections to confirm machine setups.
- Training and mentoring other Quality Assurance Technicians on proper measurement techniques and practices.
- Final inspection of product
- Review of non-destructive examination reports
- Develop processes and procedures that ensure consistency and quality throughout
- Proactively contributes to and implements continuous improvement initiatives.
- Produce in Process Check documents/work sheets/tables for manufactured parts.
- Inspection of incoming parts in accordance with relevant purchasing, engineering, and quality requirements
- Produce quality assurance documentation as necessary, including measurement reports, document packages, SPC charts, Certificates of Conformance
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in programming a CMM using Renishaw, Zeiss, or similar is required.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Experience with inspection equipment and measurement tools, including gauges, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve quality issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- A relevant technical degree or certification in a related field is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and other quality management standards is highly desired.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality control or inspection role within a manufacturing/machine shop environment.
- Knowledge of quality control principles, techniques and tools, including statistical process control, root cause analysis, and inspection techniques.
