Fleming and Baron (an ASSA ABLOY company) is looking to hire a Quality Assurance Auditor for our manufacturing facility based in Woodbridge, Ontario.
ASSA ABLOY is a global leader in opening access solutions. Our Group focuses on the manufacturing of steel doors and frames within the commercial market catering to such industries as hospitality, healthcare, aerospace and defense, sports stadiums and educational markets.
What you will be doing as our Qulaity Assurance Auditor?
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Quality Assurance Auditor will have the responsibility of project management for high profile projects and for key business accounts, with a focus on total quality from start to finish. The ideal candidate is quality focused, detail oriented, and a strong team member.
Job responsibilities include:
  • Monitor the production of key projects throughout the process and conduct routine inspections to ensure products meet quality specifications
  • Contribute to enhancing quality standards
  • Contain or reject product not in compliance with quality standards
  • Work in conjunction with Order Engineering to review the processing of orders for key accounts and select projects
  • Work in conjunction with Supervisors and Operations Manager to deploy quality assurance strategies
  • Document and report deficiencies to the management team
  • Review project details for overall understanding of scope of work prior to and on receipt of key orders
  • Perform other duties as required
  • Plan and conduct on-site inspections and consultations with audiences including, distributors, sales representatives, contractors, and architects
  • Inspect raw materials to ensure specifications and tolerances are maintained
  • Represent organization as a point of contact for special projects, providing guidance to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Check prepared shipments for key projects to ensure packaging compliance
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
  • Proven leadership ability, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to develop relationships within the organization
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to think, troubleshoot and react quickly to changing situations and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Be flexible with work hours to ensure quality are conducted according to schedule (as required)
  • Strong ability to follow-through with tasks to ensure successful on-time completion
  • Strong documentation, reporting and computer skills including Microsoft Office and ERP systems
  • Must be able to read and understand architectural drawings and product templates
  • High degree of customer service orientation
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field, e.g. Manufacturing engineering
  • Be personally accountable for the quality of work performed
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with project management or quality control
  • Perform as a contributing and collaborative team member
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and ability to travel occasionally to the U.S.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Quality Assurance training or certifications including TQM, Six Sigma, ISO 9001, etc.
  • Experience working in metal fabrication or the door & hardware industry an asset
