Construction Project Planner/Scheduler


Aversan Inc. We are currently seeking a qualified Construction Project Planner/Scheduler to work on leading edge technology products. The successful candidate for this full-time position will be a part of a highly motivated and highly technical work environment that feeds off the collective energy of a team-oriented workplace.

DESCRIPTION –Seeking an experienced high-performing contractor position for a Construction Project Planner/Scheduler for our client of a $2.5B strategic business unit inside of Client’ Global Building Technologies Business. They install and maintain the systems to help keep buildings and facilities connected, safe, secure, comfortable, and cost-efficient and are a leading provider of energy efficiency solutions worldwide.


The successful candidate must be an experienced project scheduler to develop and maintain baseline schedules and update with progress along with earn value management periodically throughout the project duration for multiple projects, programs, and portfolios across North America. In this role, you will be collaborating with project managers, project controls team, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders, setting tasks, and monitoring the execution of project timelines, resources, and cost profiles. You will also prepare project progress and performance evaluation reports and earned value management.


Responsibilities


  • Liaise with customers to review and align project schedules seamlessly to their schedules.
  • Request and guide the development of sub-contractor project schedules.
  • Liaise with engineers, project managers and other project team members to keep schedule updated and identify project issues and drive consistency of the project scheduling approach to facilitate accuracy in project execution and reporting.
  • Create, review, update and administer project schedules in company standard tools (MS Project, Primavera P6, Cora PPM)
  • Integrate multiple schedules into a master project schedule, baseline, update status, and perform KPI measurements.
  • Keep customers updated on progress and organize meetings and presentations to discuss project plans and associated issues and opportunities.
  • Work to prepare reports and updates for internal project reviews.
  • Develop and maintain summary level schedule reports: Gantt, milestone charts, and other tools used to support critical path analysis, near-term tasks work, priority-based resource allocations, performance variances, and to support cost/schedule integration.
  • Gather and analyze information to prepare reports on the progress of projects. If required, travel to project sites to review and update construction progress.


Basic Qualifications


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience using MS Project, Primavera P6, Asta or Cora PPM
  • Strong communication skills
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in & cost loading the schedule.
  • Knowledge of cost estimating, tracking and control
  • Some hands-on experience with enterprise-wide cost accounting system, SAP preferred (but not mandatory)
  • Being a natural forward planner who critically assesses their own performance.
  • Ability to balance between short term achievement and long-term development.
  • Understanding Earn Value Management (EVM) concept and experience in applying into the project schedule to drive KPIs.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in resource loading the schedule.
  • Being ambitious, self-motivated, hard-working, results orientated, problem solver with a positive attitude.


Preferred Qualification


  • Certification from PMI or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of business and commercial concepts and processes, including contracts, budgeting and project financial management, and cash flow
  • Advance Knowledge of Microsoft office suites
  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree / experience combination in construction and/or engineering and/or project management
