Our client is a well-established organization providing testing, engineering, and environmental consulting services in Western Canada. They are adding a Project Manager/Estimator to their Burnaby team.
As a Project Manager, this position will require an individual who possesses an ability to understand highly technical, concrete repair and restoration projects. This typically includes working with the owner and owner’s consultant in providing project-specific concrete restoration services.
As an Estimator, this position will require a strong knowledge base of concrete repair materials and methodologies to allow for pricing projects both realistically and competitively. Previous experience in estimation/procurement of concrete repair and restoration projects centered around commercial and industrial infrastructure is mandatory.
Requirements:
- Establish an environment and safe work procedures.
- Good understanding of risk management.
- Strong estimating and procurement skills.
- Good understanding of Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs.
- Establish and maintain project schedules and milestones.
- Use of Wet-Mix shotcrete to complete typical concrete repairs.
- Interpreting specifications and project drawings accurately.
- Good understanding of concrete repair industry standards including the ones provided by ICRI (International Concrete Repair Institute).
- Effectively complete project closeout.
- Able to accurately envision the required scope of work.
- Effective communication and adaptability to a rapidly changing fast-paced work environment.
- Monitor, manage, and report project progress where necessary.
- A good understanding of general construction practices and the complex nature of interdisciplinary “one-of” concrete repair projects.
- Manage the proper implementation of resources.
- Submit project RFI’s and change orders.
- Experience using Sika, Gemite, and other related repair material manufacturers.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in concrete repair and restoration.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in estimating, project management/coordination roles.
- Exceptional leadership skills.
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- Post-Secondary degree or diploma in a related field (CEC, CCP, CEP, PSP, CAPM-PMI, or a similar certificate that relates to project estimation, planning, procurement, and/or support role to Project Managers).
- The ability to travel to project sites to complete initial site reviews and project management (valid BC driver’s license and appropriate vehicle).
