Role Description
This role is to join the Project Leadership & Delivery management team within RedCompass Labs specialised in payment implementation and change programs.
The role requires strong focus on quality and meeting deadlines. An ability to plan, foresee issues and track against these. A candidate who can adjust to client culture, multitask, collaborate, manage timely communications and steer teams to meet objectives will suit this opportunity.
RedCompass is looking for emerging and proven Project Leaders. Project Leaders understand the day-to-day technical tasks of a traditional project manager, but in their essence they are people who can solve problems, overcome challenges and get ‘stuff’ done. They need to be able to see that’ snake in the grass’ from a distance. To be able to lead teams and clients through adversity. Resilient, they enjoy the challenge of proving change can be delivered on time, with full scope and within budget. They are change agents who play the part of project manager, trusted advisor, team leader, impossible problem solver. They are rare but inspiring. They lead by a thoughtful reflective action. Knowing when to drill down deeper to understand the issue, and when to make a decision without full information. They are wise and empathetic but most of all they are committed to outcomes.
Role description:
- Asking penetrating questions, detect unstated assumptions and resolve conflicts
- Building, maintaining and tracking against a Mid-Level project Plan as a quality Gate for both reporting to RedCompass Labs Management and how client delivery is to be measured.
- Recognizing the importance of bridging the project and the business/ Ops without bias
- Facilitating client workshops to present, validate and achieve consensus on business approaches, requirements, plans and timelines
- Managing stakeholders with regards to target deliverables against project schedule and any impacts go-live date.
- Supporting the program manager in delivering the project as part of a wider portfolio
- Creation of internal and external status reports for management partners
- Ensuring issues and risks are identified, tracked, actioned and mitigated in a timely manner to minimize uncertainty and impact to delivery schedule.
- Assessing and developing any contingency or recovery plans.
- You will be accountable for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, control, budgeting and closure of a project
- Ensuring that the project goals and deliverables are clearly defined and communicated accordingly to responsible parties
- Demonstrating leadership qualities with a resilient approach to getting the job done
The Successful applicant will have /be
- Experience with vendors and Technical/Development teams.
- Direct and pragmatic in decision-making process.
- Able to understand client landscape and build appropriate relationships
- Team leadership experience, organising and steering teams’ across Business streams and or locations
- 2-3+ years of experience of managing large scale projects
- Effective time management, and a strong facilitator, able to re-prioritise tasks/mange demands in order to keep a project on schedule.
- Clear coherent communication, authoritative
- Strong planning, reporting and some budget management skills
- Able to have intelligent and informed conversations with clients, team, stakeholders, and suppliers. Document outcomes and plan accordingly
- Confident/experiences with senior stakeholders communications
- A problem solver and able to think through challenges and provide options for consideration with limited supervision
- Hands-on and analytical in understanding issues impacting progress
It is mandatory for candidates to have some experience in payment implementation projects or delivering projects in the banking domain.
Expected knowledge at least at the basic level:
- Payment schemes (SEPA, SCTInst, UKFP,…)
- Understanding of various Clearing & Settlement Systems (e.g. Euro1, Step2, Target2, BACS, STET, Equens, Bundesbank,...).
- The typical deliverables of SME’s, business analysts, developers and QA within a payment implementation project
- The overall payments landscape
Qualifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- PRINCE2 or equivalent Project Management certification.
- Talent, desire, intelligence and perhaps some of the following…
- Equivalent training and experience from a tier 1 consulting firm (Accenture, Deloitte, PWC, Bain, etc.) also acceptable
