University Information Technology (UIT) is York's central information technology services organization. UIT exists to provide a wide range of information technology services to York's faculty, staff and students in support of the University's academic, research and administrative goals. As part of the Applications & Integration group, working within the Student Information Systems (SIS) unit, the Programmer maintains and improves the main student systems database including the reports, procedures and services associated with it. as well as developing new tools and services facilitating the evolution of the business.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:

• Advanced skills in a range of computer applications, web-based development tools, incident management. Operating systems: - Unix – Windows.
• University degree in Computer Science. Minimum 2 years of experience in modular programming on complex database systems and thorough knowledge of database tools. In-depth experience and exposure to acceptable business-class methodologies.
• Programming Languages: Perl or Python, C or C++ or Java – SQL, Javascript Technologies: Web Application Framework (i.e., Rails, Structs). Distributed Programming (i.e., Soap, Rest) Directory Services: LDAP Active Directory Applications: Web Browser, Word Processing, Email.
