Located on the Lower Mainland on the south side of the Fraser River and sharing a border with the United States, Surrey is one of the fastest growing, culturally diverse cities in Canada. The population of Surrey is rapidly growing and so too is the demand for comprehensive health services. Health care services in Surrey are primarily financed by government and through funds raised by Surrey Hospitals Foundation (SHF). SHF is the largest non-government funder of health care for families in Surrey. Their work is essential, and critical to the health of the hospitals and the health of the 1.9 million residents who reside in the Fraser Health region.
The Surrey Hospitals Foundation funds the region’s major health facilities including Surrey Memorial Hospital, Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre. They fund the Czorny Alzheimer Centre, along with many specialized community programs for newborns, children, adults, and seniors. The Surrey health care campus provides health care for your whole family, from birth to end-of-life. Due to the foundation’s support, they can recruit top medical professionals. Hire the very best support staff. Purchase and operate state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment equipment and build and maintain modern facilities.
SHF is seeking an outstanding President and CEO (CEO) to lead the organization through its next stage of growth, success, and modernization. The CEO will enable SHF to meet the health needs of a growing and changing community, including a capital campaign to support the new hospital in Cloverdale and the Surrey Memorial Hospital redevelopment, bolstering efforts to position the hospital as a full tertiary hospital. The CEO will establish an impactful presence locally and provincially, establishing substantive longstanding donor relationships and partnerships. Bringing exceptional stewardship and partner engagement capabilities to nurture existing donors while broadening the donor base will be top priorities.
As a dedicated professional and self-starter, you are a collaborative leader who is passionate about building relationships, driving transformation, growth and serving as an effective advocate for patient care. You have had exposure to fundraising, major gifts experience and understand the competitive philanthropic landscape in which Canadian charities operate. You have a track record of managing a business with relevant complexity and scope with fiscal responsibility. You bring deep leadership experience defining and driving alignment to a strategic plan, strong political acumen and a reputation for integrity, innovation, and empowerment.
