Bridge River Management Inc (BRM) is the business entity for Xwísten, formerly the Bridge River Indian Band. Their mission is to contribute to community wealth by managing and growing Xwísten businesses that are innovative, prosperous, and that connect to Xwísten culture and values.
We are seeking an innovative and driven CEO to lead BRM into its next exciting chapter. The CEO will be accountable to the Board of Directors for the corporation's direction, growth, and management. The CEO will lead BRM by developing and implementing business strategies, including cooperation agreements, new business ventures, and securing project funding. The CEO will oversee all BRM operations, develop the appropriate organizational structure, oversee finances, and develop capacity within the team to ensure sustainability and growth in all business lines. Exploring and fostering business through a consultative process will ensure BRM's profitable business activities align with community interests and values.
As an ideal candidate, you will bring a bachelor's degree in management, business, commerce, or a related discipline combined with a minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in business development and business management, ideally within First Nations economic development. You will understand the evolving legal environment related to the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. You will be a collaborative leader who is highly entrepreneurial and who brings solid business acumen. Your proven ability to grow and manage businesses will complement your superior interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
BRM is located in the stunning area of Lillooet, BC. The ability and willingness to spend considerable time in the Lillooet area and to travel on BRM business is essential.
