JOB SUMMARY
The Personal Support Worker Instructor will be responsible for preparing teaching materials and to deliver lectures on theory, techniques, and terminology. Instructors will also be responsible to mark and grade the work of the students and to assist with individualized tutoring or remedial instruction. The Personal Support Worker instructor may also provide demonstrations on how to successfully navigate required skills that a Personal Support Worker will utilize.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement and mange college policies and procedures such as attendance, grade reports, midterms reports, student advising forms, and all other assigned educational materials on a timely basis .
- Acting in a manner that upholds the College standards and supports policies and procedures
- Evaluating student performance fairly and consistently
- Participating in College and Program Activities (Staff meetings, professional development workshops, graduation ceremonies)
- Supervise independent or group projects and hands-on training
- Stay informed about changes and innovations in your field
- Advise students on program curricula and career decisions
- Other duties as assigned by the Administrator
- Help students in finding suitable practicum placements
- Timely completion and submission of all grade books and marketing of all test, examinations and assignments.
- Provide timely feedback to students regarding academic progress
- Delivering instruction that meets module and program objectives as set out in the curriculum
- Plan, prepare and deliver quality classroom instruction in lecture and or laboratory format based on the approved curriculum of Personal Support Worker Certificate program - in accordance with the course syllabus and materials and NACC requirements
- Monitoring and reviewing students during practicum and/or clinical placements, as program requires
- Teach students using a systematic plan that consists of lectures, demonstrations, discussion groups, interactive activities, independent and group projects
- Timely respond students inquiries in class/ through emails
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate must be a Registered Nurse or RPN with a minimum of 3 years work experience

COMPENSATION
- Starting wage $25.00 – $27.00/hour
