Our client is a well-liked, patient and good-humored 19-year-old male living in Langley. He is actively involved in car culture and enjoys meeting and hanging out with other car owners. He is also a music fan - and enjoys classic rock - especially from the 80s. One of his daily activities is playing one of his electric guitars. There's extra space to plug in, if you have your own guitar or bass to play some High Voltage Rock and Roll!He also enjoys food - both the cooking and eating of it. Our client loves to discover new tastes and is especially fond of hot spices. He is always open to discovering new recipes - particularly if they involve more meat than vegetables.Our client uses a power chair for getting around the community but is currently using standing transfers and walking short distances (with supervision) inside the house. He has always had assistants/aides/therapists who are older than he is, so he is used to relating and conversing with caregivers and professionals. #UN2023*Location:** Langley (Near Langley Memorial Hospital)*Start Date:** Beginning of September; training provided*Shifts and Hours:** Monday and Tuesday from 9:30am-12:30pmOR* two days between Monday-Friday from 9:30am-4:30pm*Compensation** $24.00 per hour*Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:** Daily personal care routines such as showering, dressing, washroom care, grooming, and oral care* ROM exercises* Physical transfers required* Meal preparation (breakfast and lunch)* Assistance cooking meals and cutting food, pouring heavy condiments etc.* Medication administration assistance* In-home activities (guitar practice etc)*Qualifications:** Driver's license required* Must be comfortable in a work environment with cats and dogs* Willing to learn; training available* Fully vaccinated_*Individuals with disabilities can be more susceptible to the severe symptoms of COVID-19.
