Personal Support Worker - Cornwall, Alexandria, Winchester (1 On 1 Client Care)

Seeking passionate PSWs to work within the exciting Nurse Next Door model of offering 1 on 1 Homecare Services to our VIP clients in the comfort of their own home!

We offer the flexibility you need and accommodate your availability!!! (Must be Covid Vaccinated to apply)

We currently need to fill:

• Minimum visits of 3 hours preventing the need for frequent travel
• Cornwall, St-Andrews, Lancaster, Alexandria & Morrisburg
• We offer PSW Staffing contracts within LTC Facilities @ $25/hour
• Amazing visits built around your availability (Morning, Afternoon, Evenings & Overnights)

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Happier Aging is at the heart of what we do — enabling seniors to live at home as long as possible, doing what they love to do.
• Help clients with their ADL's (Activities of Daily Living) that is within the scope of practice for a Personal Support Worker.
• Function within the limits of your own experience and knowledge, while practicing safely and competently within the job description.
• Meet the safety needs of the client and use equipment safely and properly.
• Assist clients with transfers, ambulation and exercises.
• Complete records and documentation accurately and thoroughly.
• Provide meal preparation, light housekeeping, and/or provide companionship and personal care.
• Execute on the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer.

Key Metrics:

• Experience caring for individuals with limited to no mobility
• Experience with individuals with Dementia and/or Alzheimer's
• NPS; Client Score of 10
• Attendance & Reliability
• Experience with Mechanical Lifts and Transfers
• Previous experience in a caregiving role is an asset
• AMS - Attendance Monitoring System (AlayaCare)
• Having a vehicle/valid driver license is required.

Requirements:

• Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Designers when needed.
• Negative TB test (updated every 5 years for continued employment)
• CPR certification
• Must be able to speak and write in English. Other languages will be an asset.
• Cell phone with data and understanding of how to access email and utilize online applications softwares. (Nurse Next Door uses AlayaCare Monitoring System for team members to log in and out of shifts. It is also used to check client notes and task for caregivers.)
• Must have a car to travel independently to clients home anywhere in the Cornwall, ON & surrounding areas
• Must have a valid certificate for PSW, HCA or foreign trained nurse
• Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search (updated every 5 years for continued employment)
• Fully Vaccinated against Covid-19
• 2 Professional references
• Currently enrolled in Caregiver or Nursing education
• Have a valid SIN and eligibility to work in Canada.
