Payroll, Time And Attendance Specialist (Part-Time)

Responsibilities:

• Manage regular and year-end payroll auditing and processing;
• Ensure proper time management is set up, monitor and report leaves, shifts, etc.;
• Manage process improvement, modifications, updates, and enhancement in technology to ensure optimal performance in the delivery of payroll services;
• Lead government reconciliation reporting/payments;
• Ensure compliance regarding the proper collection of hiring documents and safekeeping of employee files;
• Administer and balance remittances to various agencies and vendors.
• Responsible for maintaining our payroll system (fixes/new requirements, independently and/or with vendor support);
• Provide advice on routine as well as complex payroll transactions while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, internal policies, and collective agreement;
• Provide payroll expertise to the team (tax, best practices, legislations);

Qualifications:

• Canadian payroll;
• Post-Secondary Diploma;
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Canadian Payroll Association - CPA is an asset;
• 3 years of payroll processing in a high-volume payroll operation;
• Year-End experience;
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, technically, inclusively and effectively with internal and external partners;
• Experience with collective agreements, in multi-jurisdictional environment, is an asset;
• Payroll system experience;
• Tax experience;
• Problem-solving skills required;
