Job Description
Support Staff Regular Part-time Position
(First consideration for Support Staff and Academic positions will be given to internal applicants in accordance with the respective Collective Agreements)
We require qualified Educators to model the philosophy of the Conestoga College Early Learning Programs and maintain professional relationships with children, families, and Educators. The incumbent implements quality programs for children aged 0-12 years old. Candidates are responsible for upholding the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and the Staff Handbook guidelines.
Our successful candidate will support programming at both Driftwood and the Silverheights site on a Regular Part-time basis. The successful candidate will work 9 hours at our Driftwood site, 7:20 a.m. – 9:05 a.m., and 15 hours at our Silverheights location; 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Responsibilities
  • Ensures that the basic needs of children are met, including health and safety
  • Attends staff meetings, contributes to team discussions, and participates in professional development that is made available
  • Plans and adapts the program/environment to meet the needs of individual children, and implements quality programming for children ages 0-12 years old
  • Other related duties as assigned
  • Communicates respectfully with parents and ensures that messages are passed on to both parents, and other staff
  • Ensures that any unusual situations are shared with Supervisor
  • Provides ongoing supervision of all play areas and all activities/routines that occur
Qualifications
  • Clear criminal reference check and up to date immunization records required
  • Standard First Aid and CPR training required
  • Two-year Diploma in Recreation and Leisure Services, or Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT), or Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), or two year Child and Youth Worker Diploma required
