Working with the Deputy Director of Emergency Management, the incumbent will assist with maintaining and developing the program's mandate. They will also support the leadership in achieving objectives and developing strategies and tools.

In This Role, You Will

Responsibility 1 - Mandate planning and development

• Ensure that field operations are conducted efficiently and in accordance with CRC operational standards.
• Provide the Deputy Director of Operations with regular updates on all operational matters.
• Implement service delivery plans.
• Support the leadership in carrying out the mandate, including planning and developing mandate-related activities and projects.
• Identify immediate and evolving operational requirements and take the appropriate action.

Responsibility 2 - Coordination

• Identify and assign internal or external resources based on needs and types of teams.
• Direct field operations.
• Set priorities and coordinate with members of the Red Cross team.
• Establish and implement effective standardized working methods within the team.

Responsibility 3 - Building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders and partners

• Represent the Canadian Red Cross, Quebec, with partners or organizations and on internal or national committees, as it relates to the mandate.
• Build and maintain relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as with colleagues from the national and provincial teams.

What We Are Looking For

• Excellent ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite applications and with databases.
• Fluency in French and English is required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience in managing volunteer resources is an asset.
• Valid driver's license.
• Three years of experience in managing teams.

Working Conditions

• Frequent travel can be expected within the area and sites covered by the mandate.
• Non-traditional work hours will be required to meet the needs of the response teams.
• Possibility of responding in difficult, unstable (environmentally, physically, socially, etc.) and uncomfortable conditions that may impact physical and psychological conditions in the field.
• If you are selected for this role, you will be required to complete a successful pre-employment screening process which includes a satisfactory Enhanced Police Information Check (E-PIC).
• At this time, the CRC has temporarily suspended our Covid-19 vaccination policy and does not require but continues to strongly encourage full vaccination of all our personnel.
• Ability to respond during non-traditional hours (late nights or weekends) and long work hours in a demanding context.
