About the Role
Reporting to the President, the National Sales & Marketing Manager is a key member of the leadership team to position the company for the next phase of growth. Fostering a culture of high performance, respect and fun, you will direct all sales activities with emphasis on new business and marketing initiatives to deliver on growth targets. You will guide cross-functional and sales cycle excellence through leading a front line team of mass merchant account managers and inside sales representatives, a sales support team and a marketing associate.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market research to review product pipeline, competitive positioning and potential market expansion
- Develop a comprehensive sales strategy to effectively manage the complete business development lifecycle from lead generation through to opportunity qualification, presentation, price negotiation and close across all sales channels in a vertical market structure
- Develop marketing programs and oversee the creation of sales materials, presentations, and proposals that effectively showcase the company's products and services
- Develop accurate sales forecasts, projections and targets based on market trends and historical data
- Optimize sales budgets and financial performance through regular analysis & review of sales data, trends, business performance metrics
- Nourish strategic relationships with large customers, uncovering potential pain-points and delivering solutions in collaboration with finance, supply chain and production to ensure a smooth sales process to achieve best in class customer experience
- Lead negotiations for pricing, terms, and conditions of large account contracts to ensure mutually beneficial agreements for both the organization and the customer
- Lead, coach, develop and motivate a highly effective team in achieving their individual and team targets, KPIs
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to expand the company's presence and generate leads
Key Qualifications
·Bachelor's degree or College Diploma in business administration, marketing, or a related field
·3-5 years experience in a B2B sales leadership position selling a commodity product to large retailers
·Proven track record of building highly effective sales teams in changing environments
·Strategic/Enterprise Mindset: Thinks critically, anticipates long term challenges and trends; understands implications of decisions; translates ideas and concepts into practical applications
- Solid tech savvy with CRM, ERP and Office 365 systems
- Ability to commute to Barrie head office full time with 10%-20% customer site travel
- Entrepreneurial mindset: Generates new ideas that add value, nurtures fresh approaches to problems with curiosity and generates creative solutions
- Enthusiastic with highly positive attitude and a commitment to long term success
- Decision Making/Problem Solving: Seeks out and considers appropriate data, intuition, ideas and experience to make decisions and solve problems; effectively and efficiently integrates information from diverse sources
