Job Description
Adecco is currently hiring for a Merchandising Coordinator - Promotions / Retail in North York, ON. This is a full-time, temporary offering $29 per hour. In this role, you will liaise with various departments and participate in special projects as required. The ideal candidate will understand merchandising, promotional practices, and procedures. Responsibilities:


  • Providing weekly support to the Sr. Manager and Sr. Director in preparing/ updating financials and layout information for weekly meetings.
  • Creating and coordinating promotional events and liaises with category management to ensure promotional event transmissions are accurate and concise.
  • Writing store communications to ensure all stores have accurate promotional event information and providing promotional direction.
  • Maintaining and updating new capital plan stores on all MOG inclusion lists and flyer event transmissions based on store criteria.
  • Supporting category management, business analytics, and the promotions team in maintaining/approving promotions.
  • Maintaining spreadsheets and calendars and distributes to various departments to ensure accurate updates are exchanged including flyer event codes, MOG schedules, page allocation updates.
  • Supporting all data extraction, management, and integration initiatives.
  • Approving and managing event cancelations, promo change forms (PCFs) including pricing changes, product substitutions, regional product changes and store order cancelations.
  • Maintaining and updating databases to protect data integrity and ensure accurate and current information is available as required.
  • Providing routine information to coordinate the assignments and work procedures of others.
  • Supporting manager, promo analytics with day-to-day P&L reporting, data gathering and cleaning.
  • Creating event flyers and other promotional materials to provide clear and accurate direction at the store level.
  • Maintaining order exception lists and runs various reports to develop future promotional strategies and provide relevant data as required.
  • Providing regular and ad-hoc reporting and data analysis with understanding of retail business processes and products.
  • Liaising with supply chain, inventory, category management and promotions teams on respective changes.
  • Assisting with coaching new hires in Category Management/Promotions on various internal systems
  • Responding/resolving any issues/discrepancies throughout the planning process.
  • Liaising with category management and marketing teams for tier one marketing flyer events.
  • Coordinating auto shipment order generations (MOGs) to ensure adequate product for promotions and identify any concerns to be resolved prior to promotional events.
  • Participating in special projects as required.
  • Responding to emails and telephone enquiries from other departments to resolve issues or concerns in a prompt and effective manner.
  • Creating the master event package for vendors and the entire business.
Qualifications:


  • Computer skills to produce effective reports, documents and presentations as required.
  • Able to work with diverse personalities and styles.
  • Understanding of merchandising, promotional practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge in SQL, Excel / Access VBA is preferred.
  • Demonstrated level of initiative and judgment to organize and prioritize tasks, workload and projects. Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are required in dealing with colleagues in every day working relationships.
  • Understanding of inter-related work processes to be able to adapt to differing assignments.
  • Professional manner, tact, diplomacy, and discretion in dealing with clients and associates including senior management.
  • Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions.
  • Ability to draw on several known options to solve problems and to develop improvements.
  • In-depth Knowledge of the MS Office suite, particularly MS Excel is required.
  • Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
