Job Title: Marketing Specialist
Reports To: Marketing Manager
THE ROLE:
The Marketing Specialist is responsible for the coordination and support of Team Town Sports marketing strategies and brand vision to help drive sales in our retail stores and ecommerce. The position will assist with the successful execution of all consumer communication channels and day-to-day production of marketing initiatives and will collaborate closely with the Marketing Manager.
In addition, this position will act as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders to ensure that our marketing and promotional strategy align with brand and legal standards. In this role, building strong relationships with our merchandising, creative, operations, ecommerce and marketing teams as well as external partners and vendors is critical to success. We’re looking for someone who wants to combine their passion for marketing, team sports and retail to drive our marketing campaigns and promotions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the Marketing Manager and CRM Director to ensure customer data is accurately being stored, routinely analyzed and insights are used to consistently improve marketing programs and targeting.
- Build close relationships between various teams including merchandising, operations, ecommerce, design, digital and social media to ensure alignment for seasonal priorities.
- Support the execution of seasonal and promotional planning to drive sales and traffic.
- Contribute to the execution of all marketing and digital campaigns, including advertising (print, digital, direct mail, social media, influencer/affiliate, e-mail), promotions, contests and other marketing initiatives.
- Under the guidance of the Marketing Manager, ensure all communications materials conform to brand identity.
- Contribute to the e-mail marketing calendar and strategy; brief weekly emails to designers, ensure accurate deployment and measure results.
- Develop appropriate project workbacks and processes according to the marketing calendar and work with cross functional teams to ensure materials are developed on time and to budget involving the appropriate resources.
- Coordinate creative briefs for all major campaigns, working with channel owners to ensure consistency and brand standards & identity.
- Alongside our Digital Center of Excellence Team, and Marketing Manager, support the maintenance of all online communication messaging and content in paid digital channels.
- Develop and maintain our image library for the marketing team to reference for ongoing collateral needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to absorb new ideas, technology and concepts quickly.
- Interest in team sports an asset.
- Direct experience with marketing-related software tools, social media, CRM, and MS Office Suite would be an asset.
- Experience working with creative and production resources for digital and print media.
- Effectively manage tight deadlines within conflicting priorities. A detailed and organized person with strong project management skills who has demonstrated ability to balance hands-on execution, multi-tasking and time management.
- Post secondary degree or diploma, preferably in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or related field.
- Energetic, Creative, and Resourceful.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross functional teams.
- 2-3 years of work experience in marketing or communications.
- Knowledge of brand identity, advertising and marketing strategy.
