Manager, Project Accounting Jobs

WSP is seeking a Project Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department of the project. The position will report to the Project Director.

A day in the life:

• Assist project delivery team on the use of financial project analysis tools, dashboards through WSP’s accounting system
• Understand commercial, billing and payment terms on the project and act as a liaison with to ensure invoices are prepared and sent to the client in a timely manner.
• Accurately reflect a projects’ financial status by ensuring timely recording of all cost and revenue transactions.
• Manage Payroll for WSP staff.
• Support project delivery team on the use of financial project analysis tools, dashboards, etc.
• Manage a client invoicing team.
• Responsible for Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) and related activities
• Manage and lead internal financial reporting, and collaborate with other managers to contribute to external reporting.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

• Eligible for Reliability security clearance (individual must have 3 full years of verifiable history in Canada, USA, UK, New Zealand and/or Australia).
• More than three (3) years’ experience in a similar (project accounting for a project based, Contractor organization);
• Demonstrated professional judgment and interpersonal skills;
• Experience managing a Finance or Accounting team;
• Knowledge of the professional services industry, project-based accounting and ERP systems (Oracle Accounting experience is an asset)
• Degree or Diploma in administration or accounting
• Excellent command of Microsoft Windows tools;
• Ability to work under pressure, and the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines;
• Good understanding of accounting principles and policies
