Job Description

Event Specialists is looking for an energetic, self-motivated manager who is operationally focused and has a keen eye to detail, strives for accuracy and is driven by process improvement. We are a tech-savvy, client-focused team who regularly challenge the status quo in the events industry and look to improve how we deliver hybrid and virtual event experiences.

Reporting to the CEO, this dynamic role will provide operational and administrative support through the management ofour events, systems and processes.


This role is a remote contract opportunity with potential to lead to full-time. At the present time, we will only consider those applicants who are legally authorized to work in Canada.


Operations Manager Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining comprehensive and accurate corporate records, documents, and reports
  • Build alliances and partnerships with other industry organizations.
  • Liaise with the CEO to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals.
  • Understand and stay current with industry trends, needs, and competitive landscape.
  • Project management of smaller client events.
  • Oversee operational systems, processes, and infrastructure while looking for opportunities of improvement or revision.
  • Manage and control internal event and team budgets.
  • Keep our growing team organized and on-track!
  • Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Help promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
  • Plan, administer and control budgets for client projects and contracts.
  • Support special projects relating to sales and business development, account management, event management and overall partner success.
  • Oversee the project managers and ensure client deliverables are delivered on time.


Operations Manager Requirements:

  • Understanding of general finance and budgeting, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash-flow management.
  • 2+ years experience in management, operations, and leadership.
  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management or related field preferred.
  • You have strong interpersonal skills, integrity and professionalism.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships among managers, partners, and employees.
