This role, reporting to the Director, Financial Systems and Initiatives, is a key contributor in the Corporate Finance team responsible for supporting SLF’s global accounting and reporting functions. The incumbent will be a key player in defining and implementing functionality changes, enhancements, and upgrades in our SAP GL/GR, EFDW and Aptitude Accounting Hub.
What will you do?

• Determine requirements driven by changes, new products, new businesses, M&A, upgrades etc.
• LongView reporting support and development
• AFO reporting support and development, in SAP GL/GR, and EFDW.
• Identify and implement process improvements initiatives in collaboration with cross-team stakeholders
• Providing centralized support and expertise to the following corporate areas:
• Hierarchies (examples: Natural Account, Major Product) maintenance
• SOX controls
• Defining and co-ordinating functionality changes, reporting & data requirements, enhancements, and support Finance & Business changes and projects that impact the GL/GR, EFDW or AH (including developing change requirements and testing)
• Assure consistency completeness and accuracy between GL/GR/EFDW and AH, and troubleshoot any issues arising.
• Actively coach and develop junior staff
• IFRS 17 revaluation, consolidation, translation, elimination, OSFI reporting

What do you need to succeed?

• Technical knowledge of financial accounting and financial reporting under IFRS
• Accounting designation CPA, CA, CMA or CGA or equivalent
• 3+ years of relevant experience in either public accounting or publicly-traded companies
• Experience with Longview, Tableau or Workiva wDesk is an advantage
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA (including Fiori and Analysis for Office) and Aptitude Accounting Hub is an advantage
• Bachelor’s degree

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
