You’re creative, you have great project management skills, and want the ability to make a difference at an innovation driven company. You understand what it takes to make manage a business and make a profit and know how to bring a new product to life - not just line extensions but products that can change the direction of a company. You can analyze market segments and look at consumer trends to identify new opportunities, than use your creativity to bring them to market. In this role you will be responsible for managing a core North American business, the associated product concept/selection, packaging, promotion and costing analysis. Working with an agency or with internal creative team you will lead development of labels, packages, brochures, sell sheets, branding and consumer activities. You will execute corporate, customer, and marketing plans, strategies and projects. All this will be done within a fast-paced environment, which requires flexibility, creativity and the ability to manage multiple tasks with cross functional teams under tight deadlines. The environment is dynamic and requires a “roll-up-your-sleeves” attitude. This is not a traditional marketing role; it is a high profile customer focused role with you on the wheel, driving the future direction of the company.


What You’ll Get To Do:

Prepares and presents business reviews and marketing plans for multiple channels of business.


Develop new product opportunities using a sound business case approach based on market data, focus groups, and other sources of trends in the marketplace.


Category expertise acquired through custom and syndicated research, internet searches and market visits.


Development of marketing materials for internal & external reference e.g. brochures, sell sheets, product photography, launch presentations.


Creation and review of packaging, label design/copy and artwork.

Executes creation of new products – working in conjunction with product development, operations, and other internal and external cross-functional teams.


Work with purchasing and product development to source new and innovative packaging materials and ingredients.


Management and analysis of new products costing and creation of product specifications for new products.


Participation in new product sensory tastings and part of the plant trial team and first production runs, where required.


Creation and analysis of sales and category reports.


Channel, product, category, consumer, customer, and competition expert.




The Recipe for Success:

Degree majoring in Marketing/ Business.


Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Channel Manager, Product Manager, Category Manager or Brand Manager role.


Project management with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve.


Requires experience creating marketing and selling materials (brochures, sell sheets, website and social media content, presentations).


Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required and knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Creative Suite is an asset.


Solid understanding of urgency in responding to internal (other departments) and external (customers, suppliers, agencies) partners.


Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with clear communications (verbal and written).


Excellent organizational skills in order to meet tight deadlines.


A self starter with the ability to identify projects, solutions.


Ability to work independently and in a team environment.


Previous marketing experience in food and/or bakery environment is preferred.
