Zuccarini Importing is Canada's first espresso machine importer with over 67 years' experience in the industry. We are a small, family-run business that has been specializing in residential & commercial espresso equipment sales, service & barista training since 1954. The responsibilities of this part-time position require the incumbent to carry out a variety of functions (sometimes physically demanding) to ensure the orderly and efficient functioning of key departments at Zuccarini, including the Service Workshop, Inventory & Parts Warehouse, Showroom, and Shipping Station.

The Maintenance & Service Assistant will independently complete routine tasks, such as receiving & restocking inventory; maintaining the organization and tidiness of shared spaces, and carrying/moving supplies & equipment for staff and customers. They will also assist staff with other occasional tasks, such as picking up and delivering espresso equipment to customers; completing quarterly inventory counts; and running errands, as needed. Most work will be performed on the Zuccarini premises, and some work will take place off-site.

Regular Duties

• Ensure that the showroom is always kept clean and tidy
• Receive, count, unload and organize shipments of commercial and residential equipment, as needed
• Assist with odd-job tasks and run errands, as needed
• Assist with regular inventory counts and organization, as needed
• Help stock, re-stock, move or organize equipment & supplies
• Assist customers with carrying and loading repaired espresso equipment into their cars
• Clean espresso equipment, as needed
• Break down boxes and maintain organization and tidiness of shipping station
• Take out and bring in garbage & recycling bins
• Sweep, mop and perform general cleaning/tidying/organizing of the workshop, showroom, and inventory storage spaces as directed by Zuccarini staff
• Organize loading dock/garage and storage rooms on an ongoing basis, and whenever new shipments arrive

The ideal candidate for this role:

• Is willing to support our team with a proactive and hands-on attitude
• Is a self-starter and enjoys working independently
• Is detail-oriented and follows instructions as given
• Has basic experience with, or a willingess to learn how to operate, an accounting or inventory management program
• Has a valid Ontario driver's license
• Can lift 80 lbs or more
• Has a knack for organization
