The primary responsibility of the Logistics Coordiantor is to coordinate the daily movement and activity (such as loading and unloading) of trucks


Here Is What You Will Be Doing


  • Partner with other Shift Supervisors to reconcile information and fix any errors
  • Coordinate delivery requests with onsite personnel and outside vendors
  • Anticipate the needs of those you support and complete assigned tasks with a high degree of accuracy with minimal direction
  • Work with Supervisors and the Managers to share information and assist them with anything related to the inventory system
  • Work with the inventory system to make sure it is collecting accurate information, and then reporting this information to our customers via daily and weekly reports
  • Handle and resolve local trucking issues carrier supervision. Professionally interact with trucking operations/customer service teams on local service issues
  • Prepare bill-of-ladings for all out-bound orders
  • Maintain the site’s raw materials and product inventory
  • Work directly with customers to answer questions, solve issues, and provide them with any information they may need
  • Prepare daily rack activity for team members by capturing the needs of our customers and organizing the movement of our people and equipment, capitalizing on efficiency


Requirements Of a Successful Logistics Coordinator


  • Is honest in dealings with the company, employees, and customers
  • Written communication skills. Can create emails that are professional, concise, and informative
  • Must demonstrate an ability to manage many incoming demands in a short period of time, and organize and prioritize them in a way that the output business flow is smooth and customer expectation’s met
  • Verbal communication strength. Whether communicating with employees, managers, customers or other interested parties, communication is professional and represents the company well
  • Positive attitude; treats others with fairness and respect – expects the same in return
  • Self-starter who can budget time and resources and is able to work with minimal supervision
  • Works well with others. Has the desire to cross-train and communicate with team members in a similar capacity to accomplish a given task
  • Demonstrates a sense of leadership and ownership for responsibilities, yet is teachable and willing to learn from manager and others
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in Computers, including word processing, spreadsheet, and Microsoft Office programs


Education/Experience


  • Post-high-school education in a related field preferred
  • 2 to 3 years of job-related experience where the success of the position relied on accurately receiving, inputting, interpreting, and utilizing data to make decisions in a fast-paced environment; dispatching and/or logistics experience a plus
  • Experience with or able to learn the required rail logistics programs or other rail management programs


Here are some of the physical requirements of this role


  • Office environment located within or near an industrial environment
  • May be asked to travel long distances, on occasion, for additional training
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time
