Legal Assistant – Campbells LLP
Oakville, Ontario
Starting at $40,000.00-$50,000.00 / year depending on experience. To be reviewed after ninety (90) days of employment plus extended health benefits (individual and family) and life insurance (eligible after probation period)
Full-Time – on-site - Monday-Friday 9:00AM – 4:30PM
Campbells LLP is a busy law firm in Oakville, Ontario. This position is full time and suitable for a candidate with experience as a legal assistant, executive assistant or office administrator. This position comes with the ability for the candidate to learn and develop skills to move into a law clerk, real estate clerk or corporate clerk role.
The ideal candidate will have:
-A minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a law firm or five (5) years’ experience in an assistant, administrative, or client relationship role within any office, is required.
-Experience working in a supportive role for a lawyer is an asset but not required.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills including the preparation of routine correspondence and template based legal documents.
-Excellent attention to detail
-Keen ability to organize and prioritize volumes of tasks.
-The capacity to coordinate external and internal communications including mail, courier packages, e-mail, fax and telephone calls.
-The ability to address routine client inquiries such as providing basic quotes, information relating to our intake procedures and requests to schedule appointments or telephone calls with a lawyer.
-To prepare draft invoices and process credit card payments over the phone
-To coordinate and organize meetings (in-office and via zoom) and telephone calls.
-To open files in our matter management software and complete intake tasks (receive, scan and upload ID on each file, auto generate routine retainer agreements, send and receive intake forms)
-Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Outlook and Word)
-Ability to respond effectively and professionally to changes in schedules and priorities.
-A positive, supportive and professional attitude
-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a part of a team
-Education such as a Legal Assistant, Law Clerk or Paralegal Diploma or Degree is considered an asset but not required.
