Job Description

Sullivan FesterygaLLP is presently recruiting for a legal assistant. We have an immediate opening for professional Legal Administrative Assistant, supporting two lawyers in a variety of practice areas including general litigation, insurance litigation, estates litigation, and wills and estates.

The successful candidate must have:

·Duties include preparation of correspondence and legal documents, to compile documents such as Motion Records, Affidavit of Documents, Factums, Appeal Book, and Bill of Costs

·Knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure, legal forms & e-filing procedures is required

·Familiar with procedures in various Courts such as Provincial (Superior Court of Justice, Court of Appeal), Small Claims Court, and Federal Court

·Knowledge of Wills & Estate is required

·Interaction with clients and general practice management, including billing.

·Be a self-starter who is capable of working both independently and in a group setting

·Possess excellent oral & written skills

·Ability to work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines

·Possess strong organizational skills

·Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PC LAW would be an asset
