Labourer - Yard, Calgary

PTW is hiring a LABOURER for the Calgary Yard. In this role, you are responsible for maintaining cleanliness of the work area and ensuring that all vehicle drivers who have access to the worksite follow all mandated safety protocols.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

• Places hazard warning signs (e.g. signposts, cones) for vehicles and passersby.
• Verifies end caps on pipes are secured though daily inspection.
• Checks outdoor crates have been properly tarped, marked, and are placed on the appropriate dunnage.
• Ensures housekeeping is completed on an hourly basis in assigned area(s).
• Reports any observed damages to materials and/or equipment to the yard foreman.
• Ensures that grid patterns are clearly marked and updated for visibility.
• Assist in shipping and receiving when needed.

Experience Requirements

• Experience as a General Labourer working on a construction site.
• Ability to interface and communicate well with others. Understand and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to follow instructions from supervisor(s) to perform manual labour tasks (e.g. stacking up goods).
• Operates the forklifts and loaders where needed, if properly certified.
• Strong work ethic with demonstrated dedication.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

• Must have CSA approved safety boots.
• Must have own transportation as location is not accessible with public transportation.
• Valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract required.
