Yard Labourer Jobs

Work close to home in Uxbridge, ON

Monday to Friday, day shifts (6:00 am - 3:30 pm) with a shorter work day on Fridays (6:00AM-2:30PM)

Clean and organized outdoor yard, assisting forklift operators and building skids manually

Help handbomb material onto the forks with the operator

Throwing tarps/straps into the waste bins as you go

Remove tarps off of the next bundles to be picked

Assist in inventory management through documentation processes and inventory counts.

Previous experience in a warehouse environment would be a definite asset

Basic computer skills with Windows programs

Solid English reading, speaking and understanding skills

Receive incoming shipments, check orders for accuracy and ensure all products indicated have been received and accounted for.

Must have experience in warehouse work – specifically picking, packing and material handling

Experience in forklift operation is a definite asset

Is independent and has good problem-solving skills

Order picking in both the warehouse and the yard

Using a Forklift and other equipment to handle the material

Packing orders and preparing for shipment

Exert excellent prioritizing skill to meet and exceed project timelines.

Some experience with industrial painting and sandblasting is considered an asset

Forklift experience considered an asset

Perform routine labour tasks daily.

Filling out requisitions for project work.

Operating a forklift & other hand-held equipment.

General knowledge of construction and oilfield equipment

Mechanical experience is an asset

Assisting with the loading, testing, and servicing of a vast equipment line that includes bobcats, loaders, generators, man-lifts, etc.

Assisting customers load and unload their rentals

Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the yard and equipment

Notifying Supervisor of any equipment defects

CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support

Clean drivers abstract, Class 5 driver’s license (non GDL)

Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)

Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation

General labour duties in the equipment yard.

Experience as a General Labourer working on a construction site.

Ensures housekeeping is completed on an hourly basis in assigned area(s).

Checks outdoor crates have been properly tarped, marked, and are placed on the appropriate dunnage.

Places hazard warning signs (e.g. signposts, cones) for vehicles and passersby.

Reports any observed damages to materials and/or equipment to the yard foreman.

Ensures that grid patterns are clearly marked and updated for visibility.

1-2 years outside heavy labour experience; farmhand or industrial yard labourer experience is preferred but not required.

Assist with the spotting for trucks and heavy equipment at all times.

Assist yard teams with loading and unloading of materials and specialty equipment.

Supports with the assembly of specialized equipment (tunneling boring machines, mud plant systems)

Maintains a tidy work area for yard activities and ensures equipment lay down areas are prepped and cleared of debris.

Must be able to perform physical tasks, with the ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Sunday to Thursday: Night shift is 7:00pm to 5:30am

High school Diploma or equivalent work experience is a must

A Minimum of 1 year of experience is required in a general labourer role

Experience in the metal scrap industry will be considered as an asset

Experience in using machines like Lift Truck / Forklift, Skid steer will be considered as an asset
