Junior Quality Assurance Specialist (2023-987)

We are looking for a Junior Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Manager, Application Solutions, the Quality Assurance Specialist, will be a part of CTG’s latest major digital transformation. This Junior QA Specialist will be our subject matter expert on all QA related matters for CTG’s system applications and will be the go-to-person to identify new testing scenarios and troubleshoot any business system issues.

This is a full-time 2-year contract hybrid position based out of our head office in Mississauga.

What You'll Be Doing

• Provides advice on the testing strategy, test plans, the selection of testing tools, and the identification of resources required for testing.
• Responsible for planning, organizing, developing and executing testing efforts for large systems, including the execution of systems integration tests, specialized tests, unit tests, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Document, triage, investigate, record, and report test results and application defects using Azure Devops throughout testing cycle and facilitate regular defect review meeting with stakeholders.
• Build test infrastructures using containerization technologies such as Docker and working within continuous delivery/continuous release pipeline processes.
• You will initially provide technical support for CTG’s technical environment by addressing level 1 technical issue and providing resolutions including being available for rotational on-call support during evenings and weekends.

Skills Needed For Success

• Impeccable communication skills which include interacting with people across all levels, being adept in business writing, and being detailed in note-taking.
• Experience with using defect management tools for QA/QC work such as Rational Team
• Demonstrated experience in developing Test Cases, Test Strategies, Test Plans, including Test Case Execution, Defect Triaging, and Defect Logging using Azure Devops
• You are customer-centric in all things you do. Including building strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated experience with software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Demonstrated 1-2 years of manual QA testing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent degree
• Demonstrated experience with documenting in detail the UAT artifacts, test cases, and execution findings.
