JOB SUMMARY:
The Qualified Person in Charge is responsible for all transactions involving Controlled Drugs and Substances at Accuristix. The QPIC/RPIC is responsible to perform the QPIC/RPIC or A/QPIC/RPIC functions as required under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and related regulations. The QPIC/RPIC is responsible to assist in performing quality assurance functions for products prior to distribution.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
·Perform functions of Quality Associate 1 in addition to listed QPIC/RPIC functions.
·Work with other QPIC/RPIC’s to supervise an operations team of 4-7 associates in order to complete orders.
·Maintain CDS transaction records in a manner allowing traceability and have them available for inspection at all times.
·Prepare year-end inventory of narcotic and controlled drugs as requested.
·Monitor and regularly test security systems to ensure they are fully functional at all times.
·Ensure all sales are to be made only to those authorized to purchase substances.
·Ensure compliance with stated requirements and regulations.
·Perform inspection on controlled and substance receipts as required.
·To perform quality assurance functions for drug products prior to distribution.
·Review and investigate monthly physical inventory of all controlled drugs and substances.
·To qualify for and possess the ability to perform the QPIC/RPIC or AQPIC/RPIC functions for clients requiring such a position for their Narcotics and Controlled Drugs.
·Apply for import permits for controlled substances manufactured outside Canada.
·Prepare and sign scripts for delivery of controlled substances manufactured within Canada.
·Adhere to procedure for authorizing/recording returns from customers.
·Respond to enquiries from the Office of Controlled Substances and Inspectors.
·Submit monthly sales reports for specified substances.
·Report to the OCS any losses or pilferage of narcotic and/or controlled substance within 10 days.
·Send Health Canada (OCS) monthly/annual reports in a timely manner.
·Performs other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
·Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc) in Chemistry or Biology
·Meet Health Canada requirements for QPIC/RPIC
·Previous QPIC/RPIC experience an asset
·1-3 years’ experience in QA in a pharmaceutical environment
·Advanced Knowledge of GMP as it relates to the storage, distribution of pharmaceutical products.
·Intermediate level knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook
·Excellent analytical skills and above average attention to detail
·Excellent time management and prioritization skills.

Time: 9:00am - 5:30pm, Monday - Friday
