Junior Property Accountant Jobs

Our client, a leader in the local property development market, is seeking a Junior Property Accountant to join their corporate team. Location: Downtown Vancouver, BC (fully in-office position)

Responsibilities:

• Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements
• Provides support for accounts payable processing
• Handle a portfolio of office, retail, industrial and residential properties
• Ensures accounting files are organized and updated
• Prepares documents, processes and reconciles internal (inter-co company) and external accounts
• Work closely with your team and other departments to achieve company-wide goals.
• Prepare annual budgets and year end recoveries
• Prepare monthly financial reporting package
• Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance multiple accounts
• Prepare and/or review consolidated financial statements and year end reporting

Requirements:

• Experience with Yardi and/or Timberline preferred but not mandatory
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing demands and priorities
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
• Organized and willing to help with a variety of difference tasks
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail and positive attitude
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Enrollment in CPA preferred but not mandatory
• At least one year of experience with property accounting
• Ability to follow directions and ask questions if needed
