Our client, a leader in the local property development market, is seeking a Junior Property Accountant to join their corporate team. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail oriented and proactive. Location: Downtown Vancouver, BC (fully in-office position)
Responsibilities:
- Post journal entries and reconcile accounts, prepare trial balance of books, maintain general ledgers and prepare financial statements
- Provides support for accounts payable processing
- Handle a portfolio of office, retail, industrial and residential properties
- Ensures accounting files are organized and updated
- Prepares documents, processes and reconciles internal (inter-co company) and external accounts
- Work closely with your team and other departments to achieve company-wide goals.
- Prepare annual budgets and year end recoveries
- Prepare monthly financial reporting package
- Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance multiple accounts
- Prepare and/or review consolidated financial statements and year end reporting
Requirements:
- Experience with Yardi and/or Timberline preferred but not mandatory
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing demands and priorities
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Organized and willing to help with a variety of difference tasks
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail and positive attitude
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Enrollment in CPA preferred but not mandatory
- At least one year of experience with property accounting
- Ability to follow directions and ask questions if needed
