We are currently recruiting for a Junior Legal Administrative Assistant to join our office.This is a full time, permanent and in office position.
Your responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Daily communication with clients, experts and opposing counsel
- File preparation and management
- Booking court dates and discoveries
- Prepare correspondence, faxes and documents from precedent documents using various applications
(Word/Outlook/Worldox)
- Organization and assembly of chambers records, books of authorities, appeal records and appeal books
- Filing pleadings and assembling evidence and submission in various tribunals including the Civil Resolution
Tribunal, Residential Tenancy Branch and the Human Rights Tribunal
- File openings and closings
- Conducting searches on BC Online and LTSA; e-filing documents on Court Services Online
- Editing and emailing invoices
- Filing, copying and scanning
- Other general and administrative tasks as required
- Preparation of List of Documents and Bill of Costs
You possess the following qualities:
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office and Worldox
- Maintains confidentiality and discretion
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast paced, busy environment
- 0-2 years of experience in a law office
- Keen eye for detail and solid organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines
- Graduate of a Legal Administrative Assistant program from an accredited institution
- Excellent English written and oral skills
- Service oriented, adaptable, reliable and dependable
- Knowledge of the Rules of Court, court practices and procedures
