Job Description

An exciting 20-month opportunity, with a possible 4-month extension exists for a senior IT Project Manager with demonstrated prior successful engagements in upgrading and migrating to Windows and Microsoft 365, plus experience providing leadership, influence, and effective project management to identify and coordinate interdependencies in a complex, multi-provider environment.

The goal is to ensure timely delivery and an optimal end user experience.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to each level of the organization (staff, managers, directors, executive leadership)
  • Strong knowledge of IT Operations Management (ITOM) and IT Service Management (ITSM) Concepts
  • Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles
  • Working knowledge of one or more formal project management methodologies
  • Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in business or computer-related field or equivalent experience
  • Management (CAPM) or equivalent
  • Expert at ensuring all scope is accounted for within the transition and transformation plan; can proactively develop custom components based off client needs and can lead the development of new components into the initial plan
  • Will draw upon the analysis of others and make recommendations that have a direct impact on the branch/division/cluster/enterprise
  • 10 years’ progressive leadership experience in delivering IT Projects
  • Must have Cyber Security certification (e.g. vulnerability assessments, threat intelligence,
  • Ability to write reports, manuals, and presentations using distinctive style
  • Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, management, and client groups to take desired action
  • Ability to work weekends and / or off-hours as necessary to meet our clients' needs
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents and IT contracts
  • Deep operational knowledge in complex organizations
  • Ability to predict possible risks and proactively develop mitigation plans with the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Must have experience in Negotiating and Supplier Management
  • 5+ years’ professional background and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365 and Windows 10 & Windows 11 operating systems
  • IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Certification at the Foundations or higher level: ITIL4 preferred
  • Can lead teams through solutions and enable successful outcomes
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certification, such as the Certified Associate in Project
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues

Nice-to-have:

  • Advanced ITIL Certification at the Practitioner or higher level
  • Lean / Six Sigma Belt Certification at the Green Belt or higher level
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification through the Scrum Alliance Experience

Resource Responsibilities

  • Contingencies and allocate appropriate resource requirements ensuring that quality assurance activities are embedded
  • Practices, tools and processes
  • Adhere to mandated policies, processes and procedures
  • Obligations are met and operational readiness deliverables are satisfied using industry leading
  • Ensure inter-departmental, intra-divisional communications are prepared, vetted and disseminated in a timely manner and ongoing as required
  • Provide recommendations on and lead delivery of updates to policies and procedures manual, portal and systems with a focus on the end user experience
  • Work with EPMO & PMO to drive timely completion of all identified gates & milestones
  • Conduct regular briefings with the project sponsor to review and/or obtain approval of strategy, methodology, business cases, charters, plans, change orders, mitigations, budget, forecast, schedules, timelines, progress, operational readiness assessment plan
  • Collect, analyze, report on and respond to stakeholder feedback issues, comments and/or requests
  • Lead the go-live strategy and "war room" to ensure successful “day 1”. Ensure contract
  • As primary liaison between external and internal project team members, coordinate operational readiness, on-boarding / off-boarding issues, risk management and ongoing reporting to project sponsor
  • Take sensible risks and work as part of a team. Anticipate consequences adjusting actions and proposing strategies to resolve complex issues
  • Manage project closeout process completion and operational handoff to appropriate CLIENT teams, e.g. IT Service Management, End User Services and IT Security Managers
  • Lead upgrade / mirgration solution to meet client needs, working with solution analysts and architects from internal and external integrated IT service provider teams
  • Lead and participate in executive level business and technology discussions
  • Develop fact-based analysis that takes into account engagement objectives, that drives delivery / project teams towards achieving client’s acceptance of deliverables
  • Manage the project dynamics associated with multiple service lines and disciplines
  • Respond to all inquiries and escalated issues with a focus on building, reinforcing and enhancing the service providers relationships, while ensuring appropriate controls are maintained
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, key internal and external stakeholders; convey relevant information to an executive-level audience, ensuring client (internal & external service provider management) is aware of assignment progress/service status
  • Plan activities, define project approach, scope, milestones, success criteria, deliverables, risks,
  • Ensure unresolved daily and high-risk items are followed through to resolution in a timely and expedited fashion
  • Make decisions with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, policies and business practices to achieve complex results. Responsible for setting project, department and/or division deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to line of business and/or to the enterprise
  • Communicate clearly, ensuring budget and forecast costs are understood at start of project.
  • Own the project financials, work plan, resource allocation making adjustments when required, monitoring progress, assessing risks that may affect outcomes. Forecast any deviations and provide required reporting
  • Assess operational readiness and potential risks and conduct go / no-go decision with input from project sponsor
  • Be the escalation point for core internal and extended teams on the project. Recognize, apply and capture lessons-learned throughout the process

Skill Set Description Weight

  • 10 years’ progressive leadership experience in delivering IT through negotiation and supplier management
  • 5 years of demonstrated flexibility and responsiveness to dynamic situations, especially in a multi-provider IT environment
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in leading IT projects with cross-functional and multi-supplier teams
  • 5 years of demonstrated advanced problem-solving, decision-making and organization to prioritize amongst many conflicting needs and to advocate a course of action and pursue it consistently
  • 5+ years’ professional background and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365 and Windows 10 & Windows 11 operating systems
