Investment Consultant (Hybrid) Jobs

We are seeking an Investment Consultant to join our team in Toronto, or the surrounding areas. As part of our Actuarial and Investment Consulting Group, and reporting directly to the Vice President, you will lead the investment specialty and develop solutions in support of our clients and Group Retirement Solutions (GRS) Account Executives and Consultants.
The Investment Consultant will have the following responsibilities:
Planning and Budgeting

• Track revenues and support the invoicing process.
• Develop a plan for all known investment reports and projects.
• Provide support to ensure the division meets its growth and service requirements.
• Determine team support needed to complete projects on time and on budget.

Client and Customer Service

• Recommend, develop and implement measures to help manage clients at risk.
• Deal with customer concerns or issues and ensure that the client lead and Designate is made aware.
• Develop and maintain positive relations with existing clients and client decision makers.
• Retain existing clients through effective and professional service and support.
• Promote and maintain customer satisfaction and manage customer expectations.

Process Improvement

• Automate the investment reports as much as possible and minimize manual inputs.
• Enhance quality control process and checks to ensure highest level of accuracy.
• Ensure any leads are identified and communicated to the appropriate team members
• Utilize a continuous improvement process mindset from quarter to quarter.
• Become an expert with the tools and software being used.

Investment Research

• Stay current with market developments and key economic events and provide updates to teammates, GRS, and others as relevant.
• Meet with asset managers as necessary to enhance the team’s knowledge and awareness of what’s happening with a fund’s performance or current events.
• Provide research and analysis support to Consultants on specialty investments and funds.

To be successful as an Investment Consultant with People Corporation, you will need:

• Experience with performance monitoring for Defined Contribution Pension Plans
• Familiar with Morningstar and eVestment
• The Chartered Financial Analyst designation (CFA) in good standing, or actively in progress
• Ability to work well independently and collaborate in a team
• Solid working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience interacting with, and participating in meetings, with investment managers
• Bilingual (French and English) is an asset
• Exposure to both traditional asset classes as well as alternative asset classes
• Excellent client-focus and professional acumen
• A track record of mentoring junior colleagues to deliver high quality work
• Experience with SIPP compliance for defined benefit pension plans
• Exceptionally polished communication skills
