About The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager, Immigration Services, the International Recruitment Advisor is responsible for supporting the adjudication of immigration files for internationally recruited candidates actively recruited and relocated for hard-to-fill positions within all departments of Nova Scotia Health. This position is responsible for supporting our immigration strategy and building relationships throughout the organization and communities to ensure newly hired nationals are well-positioned to be successful in their roles and can easily transition into life in their new communities. The International Recruitment Advisor conducts screening of international candidates identified for immigration services to ensure candidates appear to meet the minimum requirements for immigration purposes and manages document intake from international candidates, including Immigration services agreements and Return of Services.
The International Recruitment Advisor assists international candidates in accessing settlement support from outside Canada and works actively on settlement support required once in Canada. Works with partners and stakeholders to identify potential markets and immigration pathways for building candidate pipelines for hard-to-fill roles. Oversees employer support processes and provides assistance in adjudicating employer support streams (AIP/NSNP, LMIA) for eligible foreign national employees. Communicates to the hiring manager and employee concerning employer support requirements, processes and responsibilities as needed. Engages RCIC as needed to ensure excellent service to employees.

$28.89 - $36.11 Hourly

About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Experience with the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program and Nova Scotia Nominee Program
- Experience working in a unionized and healthcare environment preferred
- Knowledge of provincial and federal Labour and Employment Standards and the Canadian Human Rights Act
- Ability to clearly articulate immigration policies and processes
- Minimum of 3 years of recent HR work experience
- Graduate of a post-secondary degree/program in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
