Knowledgehook is on a mission to empower the problem-solvers of tomorrow. We are preparing the next generation of learners to create an incredible future. We have a math education brand with a passionate fan-base and are creating a purpose-driven team who loves to collaborate and solve problems with solutions that break new ground. To help our company move to the next level and enable us to build an even more compelling education experience, we are looking for an Intermediate Quality Engineer.
As an Intermediate Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our product, which impacts many teachers, parents, and students across North America. You will help shape our internal processes and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure we’re meeting customer expectations and industry standards. Your primary responsibility will be to evaluate feature requirements and ensure they’re successfully tested and released.
What you will be doing
- Write and update automated end-to-end scripts.
- Triage and advocate for bugs within the squad each sprint.
- Identify additional regression needed later through impact analysis.
- Become a subject matter expert across the entire Knowledgehook platform.
- Write manual regression tests to help build out our test repository.
- Run play tests with the company to gather feedback and bugs on WIP features.
- Execute regression tests during feature integration prior to release deployment.
- Support other quality engineers with their testing and vice-versa.
- Investigate and log bugs that come from customer support and the company.
- Raise concerns with our internal processes to help the team be more efficient.
- Champion a culture of quality throughout the company by raising awareness of what testing entails and providing training and testing resources.
- Break down features into test cases for software engineers to execute.
What you need to succeed
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage tasks across multiple features and take ownership over integration testing.
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Experience testing cross-platform products (desktop, mobile/tablet, apps, browsers).
- Proven experience testing SaaS products; ed-tech and video game testing a bonus.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, using data to make informed decisions while being able to troubleshoot problems independently.
- Being part of a mission driven company, we seek individuals who have an adaptable mindset and are open to embracing new opportunities that allow them to learn, grow and collaborate in areas of business that may sometimes be outside of their defined role.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, SQL, and Postman.
- Some experience with end-to-end automation, including reading and writing test scripts in Typescript using Webdriver.io and Mocha, or related languages and frameworks.
- 3 to 7 years of experience as a quality engineer or in quality assurance.
- Proficient in writing test plans, test cases, and bug reports.
What’s in it for you
- We have a generous paid time off program that includes both vacation and personal days.
- Competitive Total rewards! Our Total Rewards package aligns with industry standards:
- We offer a benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, with 100% of premiums paid by the company.
- We embrace a remote-friendly work environment.
- Join a welcoming and supportive community! Our team is a tight-knit group of individuals who share a common passion for our work, and we collaborate closely to achieve our objectives, creating an intimate and caring community.
- Be part of a transformational organization! The Ed-Tech industry has a direct impact on the education system, empowering students and families with innovative tools and resources to enhance learning outcomes. As an Ed-Tech company, we are revolutionizing the way children learn math and tackling math phobia.
- Join a winning team! This is a unique opportunity to be part of a thriving team and develop your skills and knowledge. While the journey may be challenging, it will also be immensely rewarding.
