We are looking for experienced Control System Specialist(s) to join the growing RidgeTech Automation team.

Job Summary
- Manage client relationships and project scope as directed
- Report regularly to management and/or Team Leads and complete necessary documentation
- Uphold safe work practices as per RidgeTech Automation’s Handbook and Health & Safety Program
- Develop and verify systems; understanding safety risk assessments
- Execute and/or lead small to mid-sized automation projects
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and fluid power systems
- Commission and debug machines at client sites
- Develop controls designs and electrical schematics; specifying hardware and components
- Develop PLC/HMI/SCADA programs using various platforms
- Provide direction and mentorship to other Team Members
- Responsible for the technical aspects of integration projects and project management responsibilities as required
- Set up VFD’s and Servo systems
Qualifications
- Post Secondary Education in Electrical Engineering, Robotics & Automation, or similar education
- Only applicants with this minimum required experience will be considered for this Intermediate level role
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience specific to the Controls and Industrial Automation industry
Experience
- Electrical design fundamentals or 3D CAD development using software such as EPLAN, AutoCAD, Solidworks, Inventor, etc.
- Programming experience with current PLC, HMI, and VFDs is required
- Robot programming and configuration of multiple manufacturers (ABB, Fanuc, Motoman, Nachi, Kuka, etc.)
- Independent on-site commissioning and start-up experience
- Integration project workflow experience; from kick off, to design phase, programming, FAT, SAT, deliverable handovers and close out with a focus on client satisfaction
- Successful track record of project management and maintaining client relationships
Knowledge
- Programming knowledge of multiple software platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Omron, Toyopuc, etc.)
- Exposure to SCADA, motion control, and peripheral systems (vision systems, marking systems, weld systems, etc.)
- Exposure to various automation processes (automotive, food and beverage, agricultural, mining, pharmaceutical, etc.)
Skills & Attributes
- Must have strong communication skills to collaborate with others and maintain internal and external relationships
- Possess a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- Be highly motivated to work both independently and as part of a team
Other Requirements
- Have reliable and dependable transportation for local travel
- Hold and maintain a valid G license and a valid passport
- Be willing to travel and be able to travel abroad if required
- Must be eligible to work in Canadaand able to attend the Cambridge office as required
Although we strive to maintain a local workload, both domestic and global travel may be required in this position.
Locations and length of travel will vary depending on the projects and workloads at any given time.
