Civil Engineer- Intermediate Jobs

Due to continuing growth in our Engineering Design Organization, we are seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer based out of any of our GTA offices. This position will be integral in the development and growth of GHD's Earthworks Civil practice.

Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria along with the application of sound professional judgment. The ideal candidate will have a track record of design delivery for multi-discipline projects specifically, complex civil and facility projects

• Represent GHD at Client meetings when required
• Work closely with the engineering group to facilitate decision-making related to civil design,
• Mentor and develop junior staff
• Complete civil designs following the budget and schedule
• Develop or verify the technical scope of a project
• Work closely with Business Lead and Managers, Project Directors with a focus on earthworks, landfills, solid waste, and site remediation design
• Ensure quality control processes are being followed
• Participate in design coordination meetings and address critical issues
• Ensure the client’s requirements including specifications and standards are integrated into the project
• Coordinate all aspects of the civil design including being responsible for the design

Your Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications:

• Experience working in an integrated 3D environment
• Detailed understanding of local Agency (or equivalent) Codes and Standards is considered essential
• Demonstrable experience in civil design delivery for larger, multi-discipline projects with a focus on earthworks, site remediation, solid waste, and renewable energy considered an asset
• Bachelor’s (B.Sc.) degree in civil engineering and eligible for P.Eng in Ontario
• Minimum of 5 years of extensive technical design experience
• Team building and mentoring skills
• Experience working in a Design-Build environment is considered an asset
