Job Description
Job Summary


The Intelligence Analyst is responsible for conducting research and analysis and for the production of analytical reports and products. This is done according to defined objectives in support of investigations and the provision of intelligence to internal and external clients and decision makers.


  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge and expertise, and keep apprised of developments in relevant threat landscapes, geopolitical situations and operational events of significance related to assigned area.
  • Understand and communicate client needs and government requirements, and through the analysis of ongoing investigations, identify gaps and opportunities as well as provide recommendations.
  • Participate in the peer review of analytical products; review draft reports and provide recommendations for enhancement/correction.
  • Collaborate with key partners and support the provision of advice and content to various forums engaged in research and analysis, or requiring information.
  • Provide analysis to support the achievement of defined analytical requirements.
  • Participate in the design and delivery of presentations on topics of expertise.
  • Produce analytical intelligence products on current and emerging issues, with a nexus to Canada, in response to requirements established by management.
  • Attend and/or provide support to briefings directed towards decision makers, foreign officers and other government clients.


Education


  • College diploma and four (4) years of relevant experience*
  • Undergraduate degree and two (2) years of experience*


The educational program must be from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada.


If you completed a program outside of Canada you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada.


NOTE: Any higher level of education (for example: Masters, Doctorate) in a related field of study could be recognized as experience.


Experience


  • Relevant experience is defined as:


Experience researching, integrating, evaluating and analyzing information and data to create analytical products or intelligence assessments.


Candidates must also possess


Demonstrated experience in working with multidimensional and complex subjects / topics involving organizing, planning, coordinating, assessing, analyzing and presenting information and ideas.


Assets


  • A proficiency (reading / comprehension) in a foreign language.
  • Specialization or expertise in specific geographic regions or thematic subjects (i.e. Middle East, Asia, Europe, Africa, domestic extremism, economic security, cyber, counter-intelligence, counter proliferation, etc.).
  • Experience performing research and analysis and/or drafting written documents on one of the following: defence, intelligence, global affairs, policing.

Security Requirements


Candidates must be eligible to receive an Enhanced Top Secret security clearance.
