Job Summary

Business Intelligence Analyst is the go-to person for any standardized and ad-hoc reporting and analysis. Your expert knowledge of Power BI and Excel will give you the means to support senior management and multiple departments with their data needs. Data aggregation, transformation and visualization skills will help you bring various data sources together and convert them into insightful and easy-to use reports and dashboards. This exciting role will expose you to all areas of the business and will get you collaborating with many different teams in Canada and globally.

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop, generate, and maintain customized reports, dashboards and KPI’s to support sales growth and business decision-making

• Collect and aggregate data from internal company data infrastructure as well as external data sources such as channel partner point of sales, market and industry reports and freight carrier portals

• Validate the quality and integrity of the data included in the reports and dashboards

• Analyze, interpret, and summarize information and trends

• Develop and implement insightful recommendations to meet business needs or drive business effectiveness

• Responsible for reporting and analytics to support sales initiatives

• Responsible for data integrity, aggregation and distribution during the price update and quote renewal process

• Assist with planning and forecasting processes

• Work with business partners to understand business objectives and develop valuable reporting and ad-hoc data extracts

• Utilize appropriate tools, including Microsoft Excel, Visual Basic, MS SQL, Power BI and others

• Partner with internal teams to identify process and system improvement opportunities

• Other duties as assigned by Manager

Qualifications

• Proactive critical thinker looking to understand the end user needs

• Well-developed analytical skills and attention to detail

• Strong computer skills including Excel, Visual Basic, MS SQL, and Power BI

• Excellent communication skills written and verbal

• Keen to learn, driven with a positive attitude

• Ability to adapt quickly to business and system changes

• Alteryx knowledge is an asset

Education/Experience:

• Undergraduate degree in IT or Business or technical certificate

• 2+ years experience in a Business Intelligence Analyst / Data Analyst role, including creation and design of reports

• Experience working with RPA tools to implement process automation

• Proficient knowledge of various data sources, tools and technologies used in preparing summaries and reports

• Working experience with SAP an asset

• Experience in electrical/electronics industry an asset

• Experience working for a manufacturing or distribution company an asset
