Role Summary The IT Officer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organizations IT systems and infrastructure. They will work closely with other departments to ensure the smooth functioning of the organization’s technology assets and services by monitoring their efficiency and taking security measures against any vulnerabilities in software programs used on a daily bases, and ensuring secure operation throughout the department.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness
  • Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organization policy.
  • Set up new workstations and provision user accounts in enterprise solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve operational efficiency, scalability, and security.
  • Audit systems and asses their outcomes to minimize downtime and ensure the company’s ability to recover from unexpected events.
  • Administer cloud-based applications and services, such as email, file storage, and collaboration tools.
  • Timely diagnose problems and take corrective action from a centralized location and automate routine tasks such as software updates, security patches, and inventory management. • Perform administrative tasks related to Microsoft 365, including managing user accounts, licenses, and security settings.
  • Provide staff with training on how to use hardware, software, and cloud-based services.
  • Stay up to date with the latest security best practices and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Develop and implement robust security measures to safeguard the company's data, systems, and networks from internal and external threats.
  • Manage contracts and agreements for IT-related services and equipment.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with the company’s overall business objectives.
  • Creating instructions for program installation sequences
  • Preserve assets, information security and control structure.
  • Manage the Help Desk software platform and monitor service requests.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise. • Develop and implement robust security measures to safeguard the company’s data, systems, and networks from internal and external threats.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Expertise in IT tools and concepts, such as operating systems and internet protocol suites.
  • Solid knowledge of LAN/WAN configurations.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure, systems administration, and cloud technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with technical and non-technical personnel.
  • At least two years experience in IT.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, information Technology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices.
