Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in human resources management and recruiting. Preferably a university degree and an interest in human psychology and organizational behaviour.
We provide veterinary practice management consulting services to veterinary practices, with a focus on strengthening and developing team culture, leadership, organizational management and practice efficiency in veterinary practices in Alberta.
You will be working both with our team of business consultants and directly with veterinary practice teams.
We need you to provide:
- Develop, implement and mentor in practice HR management programs and strategies working with and supporting veterinary practice managers.
- Veterinary practice team member professional development and support services.
- Manage recruiting cycles including employment reviews, goal setting, plan of improvements, hiring management, screening processes, interviewing, new team member selection, training plans, mentorships and onboarding processes.
We make a difference by helping veterinary practices become more efficient, effective, resilient and self-sufficient by providing hands-on and boots-on-the-ground training and implementation consulting services.
The private practice pet veterinary profession is rewarding, resilient and sometimes emotionally challenging. You need to be both tough, determined, committed, compassionate and empathetic to be successful in this profession long term.
You will become an integral part of the VetShield leadership team and grow with our company as we accelerate our big plan objectives. We meet on a daily basis online and have designated leadership meetings on a weekly and quarterly basis in person.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 35 - 40 hours
Applicant Requirements: Located in Alberta, and legally able to work in Alberta.
Valid driver's License, Current Criminal Records Check, Non-Smoker and no illegal drug use. Must have a home office.
Remuneration:
Starting Monthly Wage of $5,000 - $8,000 depending on qualifications and experience
Minimum 3 weeks of paid holidays during the first year of employment
