Job Description
GFL is looking to hire an HR Project Manager to join our team based out of our Vaughan Corporate office! The HR Project Manager works closely with HR & Integration leadership to define, structure, and implement improvements to the HR operations and the overall impact and value to the business in North America. Those improvements cut across organizational processes, structure, enabling technologies and the use of data and processes to drive business alignment, organizational performance and business value.


As the HR Project Manager, you will deploy your skills to initiate, organize and drive projects; taking lead with requirements gathering, documentation, planning and managing implementations as needed.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Work with multi-site/virtual project teams across North America
  • Provide hands-on support and project management in all HR matters for M&A deals from due diligence through to integration phases and ultimately through transition to business HR teams
  • Partner with key HR Subject Matter Experts to deliver solutions for integration issues such as: benefits, compensation, payroll, time and attendance, retirement plans, HR compliance, organization design etc.
  • Create and manage project schedule; track progress in completing project tasks, manage scope, utilize appropriate tools and processes to manage/track requirements and conflicts, and ensure appropriate change management processes and tools are being used
  • Help continuously improve the Merger & Acquisition (M&A) program & tools at GFL by identifying ways to improve the employee or customer experience via automation, simplification or other process improvement


Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:


  • University Degree or College Diploma in Business Management, Human Resources Management or related field of study
  • 3-5 years of progressive work experience as a Project Manager, specifically supporting HR Operations and Projects
  • Understanding of Organizational Change Management principles and ability to make recommendations for appropriate adoption of solutions
  • Some travel may be required between Canadian / US offices
  • Experience as a Project Manager in support of HRIS, HCM, and/or Workday projects is highly desired
  • PM Community of Practice (best practice) experience
  • Program Management experience and/or experience managing projects within a program
  • Experience with M&A is preferred
