The Role
Reporting to the HR Director and working within a close-knit agile team you will play a pivotal role in providing advice to Managers and employees in all generalist areas of HR including Organisational Development, Policies, Talent Acquisition and Retention, Performance Management, Learning and Development, Employee Relations and Industrial Relations and WHS.
You will have sound knowledge of all areas of Human Resources backed up with an understanding of Workplace Health and Safety legislation.
This is a 4 day/week position with flexibility once proficient in role to work from home 1 day per week.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure successful recruitment and onboarding of new staff.
  • Act as the Return to Work Coordinator ensuring employees return to pre-injury duties in line with best practice.
  • Provide advice, support and coaching to managers and staff on a range of employee related issues including performance and disciplinary matters.
  • Provide HR support and expert guidance to the management team and 250 staff on IR legislation, Enterprise Agreement, HR policies and processes.
  • Create and maintain an environment where staff are valued, treated fairly and with dignity and respect, in accordance with Club values.
  • Deliver inhouse training workshops.
  • Lead HR Projects including Staff Induction & Onboarding Program, Wellbeing program, Be Inspired program, Change Management and Learning and Development initiatives.
  • Participate in the WHS Committee and producing a range of monthly reports

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply Awards and Legislation in the workplace, including but not limited to HR enquiries, disciplinary meetings and performance management
  • Excellent communication and relationship management
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Working knowledge of HR systems including Micropay and UKG Payroll System
  • Tertiary qualifications in HR/WHS and/or equivalent experience working in a HR Advisor/WHS Officer role
  • A service mindset and ability to drive results and prioritise workload
  • Well-developed knowledge of HR practices and procedures
  • Well-developed organisational and administration skills with strong attention to detail
